This weekend I did something that I have been avoiding for a long time: I read the label on my coffee creamer. It was worse than I thought, there were probably 10 times as many ingredients that I didn’t recognize to all the ones I did.
I know in the past I had used raisins to make condensed milk and really enjoyed the flavor so I figured that this would be a really good base for coffee creamer.
Condensed Milk Recipe
1 cup Milk of Choice (I use almond)
1/2 cup Raisins
To Make:
- Combine ingredients in air-tight container
- Leave to thicken in fridge for 24-36 hours
- Strain out raisins
- Enjoy!
Basic Coffee Creamer
1/3 cup Condensed Milk
1 cup Milk of Choice (I use almond for this as well)
All-Natural Maple Syrup to Sweeten (Optional)
To Make:
- Combine all ingredients and enjoy OR combine all in saucepan over low heat for about five minutes until desired thickness.
- Seal in air-tight container
- Enjoy for up to a week!
This delicious recipe can be shaped into almost any flavor; mocha with a little cocoa powder, french vanilla with a little vanilla extract, even fund flavors like peppermint.
As always, I hope everyone has a good week and let me know what I should try to make next!
